Erdmann/Timmermann

Der eine haut die Bälle bis auf den Parkplatz, der andere knallt einen Bombenaufschlag nach dem anderen raus. Sie zerlöchern das Feld ihrer Gegner – nun durchlöchern wir sie mit Fragen.

 

Was wolltest du früher immer mal werden?

Jony: Architekt – das hat aber nicht geklappt.

Theo: Ich wollte immer Archäologe werden. Also so alte Sachen finden und ausgraben.

 

Wurdest du schon mal erkannt?

Jony: Wenn Turniere in der Stadt sind, dann wird man da schon öfter erkannt und angesprochen. Witzigerweise war ich letztens auf Beachmitte und da meinte einer an der Kasse „Geil, ich folg dir auf Instagram!“. Da habe ich mich schon gewundert, ob er tatsächlich mich meint und es war mir dann auch unangenehm.

Theo: Ich wohne ja jetzt nicht in so einer Großstadt und von daher wurde ich schon mal beim Einkaufen von einem Fan erkannt, weil man hier auch eine Verbundenheit mit den Fans hat. Also bisher nur durch die Indoor-Aktivität, durch den Beachvolleyball noch nicht.

Jony: Das kommt auch noch!

 

Dein letzter Fehleinkauf?

Jony: Ein USB-Adapter für´s Auto. Das Ding ist Schrott.

Theo: Ein veganes Proteinpulver, das nach Vanille schmecken soll. Hat aber gar nicht geschmeckt. Bei aller Liebe für vegane Ernährung, aber das war nicht drin.

 

Stadt- oder Strandturnier?

Jony: Strand. Weil ich tatsächlich das Wasser sehr sehr liebe und das wertschätze, einfach nach dem Training ins Wasser hopsen zu können. Meistens hast du da ja auch noch mal mehr Wind als in der Stadt – es können viele nicht so gut mit Wind spielen, dann ist es ein Vorteil wenn man es kann.

Theo: Dieser Wind wäre bei mir wahrscheinlich noch ein Grund, eher Stadtturniere vorzuziehen. Ich fühl mich da noch sicherer.

 

Sieg im Tie-Break oder totale Dominanz?

Jony: Ich finde, wenn man 2:0 gewinnt und es mega heiß ist, ist das schon schön. Obwohl natürlich 2:1 auch was hat, vor allem in Hinblick auf die Spannung. Ich will mich da gar nicht so festlegen, aber wegen den Zuschauern, die schon gerne knappere Spiele sehen, eher 2:1.

Theo: Würde ich auch sagen, bei einem Spiel auf Augenhöhe lernt man meistens noch was und man hat dann dem Gegner gegenüber noch ein besseres Gefühl. Man kann denen dann noch in die Augen schauen.

Jony: Besser, als wenn du darüberfährst.

 

Deine Lieblingssportart außer Volleyball?

Jony: Ich mag Wassersportarten sehr gerne: also surfen, schwimmen, Katamaran fahren. Ich fahr auch gerne mal Rad und bin eigentlich offen für alle Sportarten – außer Tennis, da wurde ich mal richtig abgezogen von so einem älteren Herrn und das hat mir gar nicht gefallen.

Theo: Ich finde Tennis ziemlich cool.

Jony: Das war nicht Theo in meiner Geschichte!

Theo: Jaja.. im Tennis sind die Bewegungsabläufe ähnlich zum Volleyball. Ich würde mich nicht ansatzweise als fortgeschritten bezeichnen, aber wenn ich gegen meinen Vater oder meine Schwester, die im Verein spielt, mal spiele dann ist das schon immer ein spannendes Spiel. Macht mir auf jeden Fall Spaß.

 

Was treibt dich voran?

Jony: Meine Eigenmotivation. Ich habe mir immer gesagt, solange ich noch besser werden kann und ein vernünftiges Niveau spielen kann mach ich das. Es macht mir immer noch unfassbar viel Freude dieser Sport und ich sehe da auch noch längst nicht ein Ende.

Theo: Bei mir sind es vor allem Erfolgserlebnisse jeglicher Art, die mich dazu motivieren weiterzumachen. Das können zum Beispiel Fortschritte im Training sein.

 

Hast du ein Ritual vor jedem Spiel?

Jony: Wir als neues Team haben einen festen Tagesablauf: wir stehen so um 8:00 auf, frühstücken und aktivieren uns; vor dem Spiel kommt dann Taktikbesprechung, das Eincremen und vor jedem einzelnen Spiel putz ich auch noch meine Brille. Wenn die so verschmiert ist kriege ich direkt schlechte Laune, also wäre Brille putzen mein Ritual.

Theo: Da gehe ich mit, ich putze auch immer meine Brille (beziehungsweise Jonys, die hat er mir geliehen). Auf die passe ich nämlich besonders auf.

Jony: Und wenn wir uns einschlagen, muss ich den ersten Ball immer sehr sehr hart und über den Zaun schlagen. Immer einmal bouncen! Wenn das gut geht, dann kann eigentlich gar nicht viel passieren.

 

Was würde dich dazu bringen, mal gegen den Pfosten zu treten?

Jony: Das wird nicht passieren, da würde ich mich ja am ehesten noch dabei verletzen. Was mich aber rasend macht ist Unfairness und Unsportlichkeit vom Gegner oder wenn der Schiri vermeintlich nicht mitarbeitet, also ihm grobe Patzer unterlaufen. Aber eine rote Karte hatte ich z.B. noch nie.

Theo: Ich bin auch eher ein ruhiger Spieler. Ich rege mich über sowas schon auch auf, aber häufig bin ich auch auf mich selbst wütend, wenn ich z.B. den selben Fehler häufig mache. Aber gegen den Pfosten würde ich auch nie treten, da bin ich zu dankbar dafür Beachvolleyball auf dem Niveau spielen zu können.

 

Wie reagierst du auf schlechte Schiris, wenn er z.B. eine klare Netzberührung übersieht?

Jony: Ich gehe zum Schiri und sag ihm: „Mein Freund, wir sind alle müde aber bitte mach deinen Job richtig. Wenn du dir unsicher bist, geh halt noch zum zweiten Schiri runter und red mit dem.“. Bei der Beachliga passiert sowas zum Glück nicht, das ist ein sehr faires Miteinander. Bei großen Turnieren würde ich z.B. eine Challenge ziehen.

Theo: Ich würde als erstes den Spieler ansprechen und darauf hoffen, dass er es fair zugeben würde. Sonst würde ich zu den gleichen Mitteln wie Jony greifen, wobei ich die Gespräche dem Kapitän überlassen würde.

 

Was war dein bisher prägendster Moment im Volleyball?

Jony: Da gibt es viel Positives und Negatives. Ich durfte ja schon einige schöne Turniere mitspielen, besonders prägend war da London 2012 oder die WM 2013 vor einer großen Kulisse. Soweit international auch auf den Endgeräten zu sein ist auch eine super geile Erfahrung. Das erste Mal Deutscher Meister war auch ein Traum, und auch der letzte Vertag mit den Netzhoppers war klasse. Negativ vor allem die knapp verpasste Olympia-Quali 2016, da hätte ich schon mal gegen den Pfosten treten können.

Theo: Für mich war es das erste Spiel in der Bundesliga gegen Rothenburg. Wir haben zwar 3:2 verloren, aber ich bin direkt MVP geworden. Im Sand wäre es wohl mein erster Sieg mit Jony bei unserem kleinen KW-Turnier. Negativ war meine Verletzung in der vorletzten Saison, ein Bänderriss wegen dem ich 8-10 Wochen nicht spielen konnte.

 

Und Jony, was war deine schlimmste Verletzung bisher?

Jony: Ich hab ja schon einiges weggesteckt, aber am schlimmsten war meine Rückenverletzung 2011. Ist heute zwar top ausgeheilt, aber damals konnte ich ein halbes Jahr mitten in der Olympia-Quali nur mit Schmerzmitteln trainieren und Turniere bestreiten. Wegen London konnten wir uns keine Pause leisten. Es war dann so schlimm, dass ich wirklich nur 50 Meter gehen konnte, ohne mich nicht wieder hinsetzen zu müssen – aber Spielen ging irgendwie.

 

Wie kriegst du den ganzen Sand aus der Wohnung?

Jony: Geile Frage! Eine der ersten Sachen, die ich machen durfte, als ich hier angekommen bin, war staubsaugen. Ich hab da einen super Trick: hängt die nassen Klamotten auf den Balkon, lasst sie trocknen, schüttelt sie dort aus und dann erst kommen sie in die Waschmaschine.

Theo: Bei mir ist es sandig in die Wohnung, sandig in die Dusche und dort dann die sandigen Klamotten ausschütteln. Wenn sich dann genug Sand angesammelt hat staubsauge ich. Das passiert dann nicht unbedingt im Anschluss.

Jony: Ab wie viel Zentimeter Sand auf dem Boden sprechen wir von genug?

Theo: Sobald man den Boden nicht mehr sieht würde ich spätestens mal staubsaugen.

Jony: Ich komme nie zu Besuch!

 

Schon Pläne, was nach dem Profisport kommt?

Jony: Kein Kommentar- geheim! Es gibt schon unausgereifte Pläne, die ich aber nicht verraten darf. Zuerst möchte ich noch solange es geht Beachvolleyball spielen, vor allem im Hinblick auf diese neue super Konstellation mit Theo über dieses Jahr hinaus. Ich studiere ja noch Wirtschaftswissenschaften an der Fernuni, und auch mit dem ganzen Orga-Kram, der im Beachvolleyball nun mal anfällt füllt sich mein Tag schnell.

Theo: Ich studiere auch noch nebenbei Telematik und werde nach dem Sport irgendwas programmieren für irgendwelche Firmen. Aber zuerst wird Volleyball gespielt.

 

Dein Tipp: wer gewinnt die Liga der Frauen?

Jony: Karla. Und Partnerin, die Svenja. Aber bei dem Format kann alles passieren.

Theo: Sehe ich auch so. Die Svenja Müller mit ihren 1,93m zerstört die Liga ganz schön wie ich das bisher mitbekommen habe. Und mit Karla Borger hat sie eine klasse Spielerin an ihrer Seite, die das ganze gut steuert.

 

Und wer kommt noch ins Final Four?

Jony: Cinja und Kim, Melli ist immer ein heißer Kandidat… vielleicht noch Isa, aber da weiß ich zu wenig.

Theo: Körtzinger/Schneider machen das ganz gut, sonst auch Behrens/Tillmann und Gernert/Schulz.

Jony: Und generell, wirklich stark was da mit diesem Turnier auf die Beine gestellt wurde. Es ist ein sehr faires und professionelles Event, für das wir uns bedanken!
